Nick and Holly do things their way, that’s why they chose the fabulous outdoor ceremony/venue of Weddings in the Wood in The New Forest, Hampshire. It was a complete honour to be their photographer and document the true beauty of the love they have for one another. We started off at the Foxhills for bridal prep with makeup by Skincare Inc and hair by the fabulous Kimberly Eldridge, ‘Hair by Kim’, flowers were delivered and look beyond amazing by the talented Lorraine & Leanne ‘The Flower shop’, Chandlers Ford and it was soon time to head off for the forest. The weather was threatening rain all day and we did have a few showers however this did not dampen anyone’s spirits. The day was relaxed and beautiful, it included handmade decorations and favours, orange fabric tied around the trunks of trees inspired by Nick and Holly’s love of Thailand and tribute to the Buddhist tradition of trying robes around trees and incense was burning along the forest path which added to the laid-back festival vibe. Whilst sheltered by the canopy of trees Nick and Holly said their vows to each other in a special humanist ceremony.
The entire wedding was tailored to family and love along with a quirky edge of axe throwing and shooting! The food was out of this world by Ollie @Hampshire Feast and consisted of a selection of street food and salads and even an array of homemade cakes made an appearance alongside their wedding cake for anyone with food allergies.
When I didn’t think it could be any more heartfelt Holly whispered that they weren’t going straight into their first dance as she was singing a song as a surprise for Nick. Que the tears.
The evening didn’t disappoint and young to old couldn’t help but get up to dance the awesome Davey Jones Locker Band. The fire pit was lite and it was time for more food, I must say this was an amazing, unique and dam awesome wedding and I can only wish Holly and Nick the most fabulous marriage and the world is waiting for you!
