Edes House Wedding, Chichester followed by, cupcakes, love, gin, a bit more gin and bucket loads of laughter.
Last weekend I had the pleasure of being the photographer for the lovely Jen and Dan. Jen contacted me just a few months ago due to being on the fence with regards to having a wedding photographer and luckily their date was free. It was actually my wedding anniversary which for me made it super special to capture such love and happiness of another couple on the same day. It was my 6th year in and we are not a soppy couple so it wasn’t an issue to be apart, although I did stay inline with tradition and as iron is the sixth year symbol I ironed him a shirt (that’s gotta count right?).
So back to Jen and Dan, these two cool cats had decided to have a low key wedding ceremony at nearby Edes House in Chichester and a chilled reception in their gorgeous garden. When I say low key and chilled what I actually mean is, champagne, cupcakes, classic cars, an insane Jag exit, live music, festoon lights and more gin and gourmet Italian buffet then you could ever wish for!
Jen was relaxed and HOOVERING when I arrived at their home for bridal prep. It was this moment I knew today was going to be fabulous! I was welcomed with such open arms into the morning by Jens family and friends which clarified the reason why they had decided to hold their reception at their home with there nearest and dearest.
The morning went without a glitch and Jen looked incredible but even more so as she didn’t even realise how amazing she looked. A few tears were shed and it was time for Jen and her Dad to get to Ede’s house. Dan was hiding from me chilling in a nearby pub for a pint with his boys and it was soon time for Jen to walk down the aisle arm in arm with her Dad who I must say was rocking the most fabulous floral shirt!
The ceremony was short and sweet and even though I could see a traffic warden from the window politely placing a parking ticket on my windscreen…must carry more cash (noted) it didn’t even matter, the look on the faces of Jen and Dan and their surrounding family was so emotional and I could see how much happiness this brief moment and exchange of promises had created. Oh goodness, cue a tear.
Jen and Dan exited as Mr + Mrs Stepford and the celebrations began. Confetti, cupcakes, bubbles and lots of hugs followed, then back to their fabulous home with live jazz playing on the lawn. Following this there were so many amazing moments, including one of the best magicians that I ever come across, I mean who else can put a mobile phone in and out of a baloon!? Then…. a HUGE authentic Italian feast which just kept coming and coming! The live 2 two piece duo of piano and strings then became a 4 piece known as Jazz Dynomos and they played into the night with the back drop of the most stunning sunset of pinks and oranges. I’ll be honest some weddings you just don’t want to leave and you almost forget you’ve only just met all of these lovely people and you aren’t actually a guest! This was definitely one of them!
Thank you Jen and Dan for inviting me into your wedding day and being so welcoming and allowing me to capture the story of your wedding day. There are lots of images i’ll be going through in the next few weeks but for now here’s a little preview of your day.
Have the best time in Lake Garda having a well deserved relax!
