WHAT AN AMAZING YEAR 2018 WAS. SO GRATEFUL!
So what can I say? 2018 has been one heck of a year for me. Personally and business wise. I’ve turned my love of capturing moments into my full-time career. This was always the goal, even before I knew what the goal was. I’ve worked my backside off! I honestly can’t believe the challenges I’ve faced whilst still moving forward with this love for photography. The passion I have found whilst holding my camera is amazing. This realisation I will be forever grateful for. I owe so much to my gorgeous client for putting their faith in me. Thank you. To all my amazing family, friends and colleagues, thanks for cheering me on from the sideline every time!
I’m even going to give myself a huge pat on the back for continuing to challenge myself to be better. I’ve come along way in just a few years, I know I’m not finished growing by any means but I do feel proud of where I’m at. The hard work from my first couple of years in business is starting to pay off. I sometimes work in my PJ’s all day and take lunch whenever I want…that’s winning right?!
This year I have had the privilege of documenting 48 gorgeous wedding clients. Each wedding completely unique and each one teaching me something new. We had snow in March. Crazy. Then onto a scorcher of a summer! Then all the in-between windy, rainy and cloudy days. No wedding for me is defined by the styling or the weather of the day. Each one of my couples perfect day is imprinted on my heart. I’m blown away how these gorgeous couples and their families celebrate love like it was a brand new thing.
I feel totally honoured and honestly overwhelmed that I get to see all of these intimate moments from the inside. These are the lessons of love that keep me loving every journey of a new wedding. I turn up my music on the way with no expectations but with a blank canvas to capture these stories, each one unique and independently yours.
Sometimes things go ‘wrong’ during your wedding day but one thing I know is that the moment you lay eyes on that perfect soul that you are joining for this lifelong ride then any worries disappear and that’s the meaning of marriage, right there. Visible for all to see and for those few minutes regardless of the missing chair covers, the safety-pin held dress and the wrong shoes, none of ‘the stuff’ matters. None. And I promise if you are reading this as one of my future couples then one thing I can assure you is no matter what happens you will have THE best day of your life. Still pinching myself that I get to document this beautiful journey for you. HOW BLOODY LUCKY AM I!!!??
So…..looking forward to 2019…I have 21 wonderful weddings already booked in my diary some at my favourite venues and some at venues I’ve wanted to work at for a long time. My first wedding of 2019 is at the gorgeous Clock Barn in Whitchurch. I’m so excited to see what 2019 will hold and if it’s anywhere near as fulfilling as 2018 then there is the risk of my heart exploding!
I’ll see you on the other side you lovely lot! When things don’t go to plan remember that the only thing that matters is LOVE. That’s what this is ALLLLLL about!
Heres a selection of the past year. Grab the last of the Xmas booze and have a browse. And if you are getting married in 2020 or 2021 get in touch! I’d love a front row ticket to the most amazing thing you will ever do. Much love. xx
